Rychel lasted one more day than Shinkaruk. Does that mean we win?

pretty much as expected, yes? Some really nice callup options though. Pretty sure all of them will make it safely to Stockton.

Man, these guys might be tweeners but five years ago they would have been solid 3rd liners. League is not the same.

That should be most of Stockton's top six. The little I saw of Robinson thought he might be okay on a fourth line, if the Flames didn't all ready have so many players.

Mildly surprised no Lazar on here but he is probably in a battle until the last day of camp.

If Tre didn't burn a 2nd to pick him up he'd easily have been on this list.

I assume you’re correct, not because he’s a meaningful part of that battle, but because sending him down right at the end is the lowest risk scenario if we want him on Stockton for the year.

In the post game show last night Lou had an interesting remark. All of them were exasperated about the game.

Wills and Lou both said that there still lingering effects of the China trip
There was discussion that there hasn't been a lot of practice time due to the trip - Peters is essentially running full practices on game day skates

But the comment Lou made was something to the effect of: you have a new coach where you are starting from scratch with your role. Some players it wont matter, but for some veterans the money in the bank from past seasons wont have the same sway with the new coach because he's judging you afresh. You have to restart the deposits with the coach. And that some veterans may be relying upon old deposits too much.

I sat there thinking and wondering which veterans he was referring to. And that the point he made was that it was more than one.

Although I believe Lazar is at low risk of being claimed, there is an argument that sending players down earlier carries less risk of them being claimed as teams are still sorting out their own training camp battles.

Not much surprise there. Thought we'd get more out of Rychel but other than that, we seem right on track.

I bet the majority of cuts are done tomorrow, with the serious candidates being left behind in SJ after the game if they are cut. I mean Andersson,Kylington, Valimaki, Dube, Mangipane..

I think the good guy persona of Lazar is unlikely to save his job this fall, but it should be enough to get him to the last days of camp.
