Why did he get the surgery done a week before regular season starts.

The Ducks certainly have had their share of injuries to key players although Perry's stats have started to decline shapely he's still a 50 point player they now won't have for a while.

I certainly am not feeling bad for him. One of the dirtiest players in the league.

He apparently hurt his knee in warmups on Monday.

I'd like to say ANA are in trouble this season but every single damned year they find a way to claw back from terrible first halves of seasons to make the dance. Every damned year.

Theyll suck the fist 40 or so. But Im sure theyll do their push and fight for a playoff spot.

I've said it before on CP: I don't think the Ducks will do good this year.

No major signings, no major trades (hell not really even minor ones). Other than a few players like Silvferberg Rakell and Gibson no one else is really in their prime. Geztlaf, Kesler, Cogliano, Miller and Perry are getting to be not as effective as the league grows.

I don't think Anahiem will do good this season, in fact I believe Edmonton and Arizona will be better than them.

Plus by all accounts Perry was pretty bad last year. Don't think they'll miss him enough to make a difference, but one can hope.

I've learned to not take the Duck lightly even if they have major injuries.

The ducks..uh..find a way.

That's pretty much why I hate the Ducks the most. Doesn't matter if it's Getzlaf, Perry, one of their goalies, top pairing D...they are always out of it to start the season, get healthy and then come roaring back to win the division (or runner up like last season).

It's infuriating as a Flames' fan to see posts early in the season about how the Ducks are done by Xmas, but you just know in your heart they will come back, beat our ass in important games, and steal a spot from a more deserving team.

The Ducks have won the division 5 of the past 6 seasons. Until it's proven on the ice, they are very much a lock to be division contenders. It never seems to matter that their best players are past their primes .

#### the Ducks

This will probably pan out to help them because they have plenty of players ready for more ice time.

I wish this team would go away already but that D is very strong and still young, Gibson + Miller will be good, Rakell, Silfverberg, Kase, Getzlaf, Henrique and Cogliano are enough on offense to keep them around. Plus some nobody always comes out of nowhere for them and tears it up.

They draft so well. I wish we drafted like they do.

You can lose Kessler and Perry because you have Rakell and Kase playing in top six roles now. And they have some more decent prospects on the way.

Yeah, the sad thing is that the Flames would be better off if the Ducks had Perry in the line up. His game had fallen off quite a bit.

As for the injury, he's faked a number of knee injuries over the years. Kind of poetic.

While I'd never wish an injury on anyone, not every player is entitled to sympathy if it happens. The NHL is going to be a better league for five months.
