Moving to Vancouver

[Abstract]

Pretty much as the title suggests except its my brother that is moving from Scotland to Vancouver and not me. Im going with him for the first coupla weeks tho hence the Calgary part.

So, what do we do in Calgary? Already got Flames tickets sorted.

And more importantly what should he do in Vancouver for those that know it. And i dont mean just as a tourist. Where should he eat, sleep, look for work, shop, go to meet people, drink, everything!

All advice will be gratefully received! In Calgary from Oct 29th - Nov 2nd and then on to Vancouver. Ideally he wants to get work experience in media industry and in a perfect world in sound production. He's 26 and has a BSc in Multimedia Techonology.

I would reccomend either the Burnaby or New West area as they are probably a little cheper than other areas. But obviously. it depends on which parts of Burn or NEw West. There are lots of places to eat in van, I dont really know a certain area that is better than the rest. Downtown restaurants are generally more expensive. I would reccomend on finding a place close to a Skytrain station especially if you dont have a car. And goin downtown, skytrain is the way to go. Finding work??? I havent the slightest clue what you are looking for so I cant help you out there.

And contrary to Fortze, the girls of East Hastings are not the hottest chick in the city.....hjahahha.....stay away from Hastings, or East van for that matter IMO

Unless you mean hot as in "their flesh is feverish due to infection" then he is bang on.
