Really not a huge fan of this one. Reminds me a little of when Detroit extended Danny DeKeyser, although I'm not as down on DDK as a lot of Wings fans are. Theodore is pretty unproven and didn't wow in the underlying metrics this year. Could go a bunch of ways but I'm not so sure that this deal will age well.

I dont getnthe Dekeyser comparison at all Dekeyser was a college UFA then 26 years old when hensigned his big contract Theodore is 23 and a former first round pick
An extra 25K per season and one year longer than the Hanifin deal so this seems to make sense i would havenfigured a bridge deal though
Knights re-sign Theodore (7 years, $5.2 million AAV)
