Knights VGK defenceman Nate Schmidt suspended 20 games for Performance Enhancing Substance

He was a big part of their playoff run.

Knights say it was for trace amounts of a banned substance and was accidental and unintentional.

If only we had these people review the gm6 goal.

Yeah it's pretty on script. Some of them have to be honest, he could be honest, but they all seem to say the same thing.

I remember when Colabello of the Jays was caught. Big splashy Sportsnet interviews with tears and a suggestion of how unfair this was and he had no idea how it got in his system.

Then you never see him again.

There are quantities cited, and reference to expert testimony. That is different than the normal script for a lot of folks, no?

I dunno, sounds plausible

The quantity means nothing. A small trace at the time of testing can be a left over from a very large original dose.

If it even is a small dose. I have no idea what's a significant dose of an unnamed substance.

Its was more or less because he fell off a cliff. He batted .069 In his last 29 at bats leading up to the claim of peds. So he was punted to the minors. He signed with the Brewers and Indians but could never crack the big league rosters again. Seems fishy for sure like as soon as he stopped taking them unknowingly his career went down hill.....

If it's true that his hair tested clean, then his story becomes more plausible. Likely environmental contamination.

20 game suspension with no pay for a first offense showing virtually indeterminable levels of a banned substance in your system.

2-4 game suspension for first offense trying to directly take a guy's head off, multiple camera angles and replays as evidence.

What kind of chemical sorcery makes a 0.069 batter a 0.321 batter?

The old Sammy Sosa routine.

I have no idea how this HGH entered into my blood stream... Maybe osmosis?

Nate, why not divulge what the substance is, if you’re so innocent?

Yeah, this is rather hilarious.

You can mash a guys head in a complete blindside hit and receive little to no punishment, but those darn cheaters getting ahead of everyone by using PEDs. That is the real problem in this game.

One of these things is legal in a contact sport, the other isn't....

I just don't think it's that simple.

You have to be against PEDs as a league, so that's a given. They need to be better or more consistent with league discipline for sure, but it's always been a tough line in a league built on physical play.

I think they've improved the discipline process.
