Bad: That's an overpay for a 20/60 guy.
Good: But it's only for one season.
Bad: Because he's definitely leaving by the trade deadline.

That smile on his face is knowing he has less than 1 year left with the Sens

Makes him less likely to be traded early - probably rental trade bait at the deadline now.

Can't see what is in this for Ottawa. Seems like bad management all the way.

Three huge rentals in a season where they've given up their first round pick.

Why give 1 yr in a settlement deal?
Clearly he wants out asap.

They can't commit any long term dollars until the new ownership takes over.

What choice do they have? He likely didn't want to commit to more than 1 year.

I don't think that is even close but it is funny because there will be some posters who won't like trading a first round pick two years in a row because the Flames need to restock the prospects cupboard.

Looks like keeping Michael Stone around might actually payoff next summer!

Success for the 2018-19 Sens looks like:
Maximizing the value of Karlsson and Stone via trades and some how not winning the draft lottery.
This all coming a year after being one goal from a Cup final.

It would start with 2019 first 2020 second, Bennett, kyllington and Frolik for cap reasons.

His price-point was dramatically reduced by his NTC, and his rejection of a handful of earlier deals including one with the Edmonton Oilers.

I think this is really high for a playoff rental at the TD. It is likely that Stone is dealt for picks and a prospect.

I think a nhl roster player likely needs to go back, otherwise Sens might have difficulty dressing a full roster and meeting the salary floor.
