My wife's education-tech company has launched their 4th year of summer camps for kids in Calgary and Kelowna. The camps are a fun mix of STEM (science, tech, engineering and math) with art and activity. Camps are fun for kids and have great educational value for parents.

DESCRIPTION
In this week-long camp, campers will design and create a life-size newspaper animal while using circuits to animate and bring it to life! They will also create their own unique Mousetrap game using robotics or circuits to initiate a desired action. For the final project, we will spark student's imaginations and foster their creativity as they design, create and iterate their very own arcade game prototypes! Whether they make a classic game like skiball or pinball, or make a game of their own design, students will have fun as they learn how to make sounds, and add movement and/or lights to their inventions.
This camp is perfect for campers that want to be Creators. Campers and their parents will be amazed by what will be accomplished by the end of this exciting, hands-on week of Maker Extravaganza!

4. Drone Camp (3D Printing and Coding)

DESCRIPTION
Have you ever wanted to fly and design a drone? This exciting, inquiry-based camp will provide students with an opportunity to learn about drone applications, flight regulations, conceptual design, and engineering principles in a safe and positive environment. 3-D printers will be utilized to design drone models using Tinkercad, and Parrot Mambo Quadcopters will be coded with Tynker, a creative computing platform. Junior pilots will perform search and rescue missions as drones are navigated through obstacle courses. Participants will keep their own drone at week's end, and be provided a wealth of resources for independent exploration.

Cost: $345 plus applicable taxes and fees and $300 for supply charge (campers will get to keep your drones at the end of the week!)

5. Robot Wars and Games

Do you love robots and have a passion for adventure? Then this is the perfect camp for you! Build, wire, code and program your own robot to compete in various games and battles. Participants will design and customize their own robots to complete in obstacle course races, play soccer games, and even to challenge other robots in an ultimate robot fight competition! Campers will have fun as they learn valuable skills in coding, problem-solving, design and engineering while making new friends.
*This camp is recommended for kids entering into Grade 3 to 5. This camp is open to students from all schools.

6. Girls Only Wearable Tech & Design Summer Camp

DESCRIPTION
In this week-long camp, we will spark our student's imaginations and foster their creativity as they design, create and iterate their very own tech accessories! Campers will also learn how to code using Blocks and Java script to create wearable tech using the BBC Micro:Bit. These powerful devices are small, and wearable! They feature LED displays, an accelerometer, compass, and so much more! Let your imagination run wild when using these Microbits, whether they make a flashing heart, smiley/frowny face, games from sensors or classic games like rock, paper, scissors! Fabrics, circuits, lights, and sewing will be used to create one of a kind decorative and techie fashion pieces. With a Micro:Bit, students can make fashion scoreboards or make a game of their own design, students will have fun as they learn how to make sounds, and add movement and/or lights to their clever blinky inventions.
This camp is perfect for campers that want to be Creators. Campers and their parents will be amazed what will be accomplish at the end of this exciting, hands-on week of Art/Tech Maker Extravaganza!
