Default Dog Run and Landscaping?

I’m curious on suggestions for a dog run on the side of my house. It’s an area we can’t use for much at this point. Our dog is basically kills our grass and can’t stay out of the garden, she is a Borador rescue we think 1.5yrs now(Lab/Border Collie). We’d like to limit her to that area, she’s smart and can learn. She’s also really outside about an hour a day. She gets lots of walks and love from us.

What do I use for stones?
What's the cost?

I'm looking for a contractor to do this and the dimensions 57x7.4 ft

Thank You

We are in a similar position and in my head, I picture artificial grass up against the house and then large square patio stones (or concrete if you are looking to make it look really nice) running from the artificial grass to the fence. Let my dog decide how he wants to use it.

My friend recently put some kind of small stones in places in her yard and her dogs love rolling around in it. She wasn't making a dog run in particular, but she said at the store that they told her that material was common for dog runs.

I'm making a toilet area for my dog that we're getting this weekend, and I'm using a round shaped 3/4" rock. I was advised against small pea gravel because it may get stuck in his paws, especially since he will be a very large dog. I'm also putting a good 3-4 inches with to ensure proper drainage.

As for cost via contractor, I have no idea. I'm simply digging out my old grass be hand, laying landscape fabric and then throwing down the rocks.

Don't cheap out on the landscaping fabric. If you are looking at the $20 roll and the $75 roll, there is a reason why the one is more expensive. Cheap stuff will have weeds growing through much sooner/ faster.
