Jagr not ruling out NHL return: report
https://www.nhl.com/news/jaromir-jag...hl/c-297764080
Quote:
Jaromir Jagr has not ruled out a return to the NHL, according to the New York Times.
The 46-year-old forward, who signed a one-year contract with the Calgary Flames on Oct. 4, had seven points (one goal, six assists) in 22 games with Calgary but was placed on and cleared waivers and was assigned to Kladno of the Czech 1 Liga on Jan. 29.
"I would be more happy if I was in the NHL now, but as a second option, this is the place I want to be," Jagr told the newspaper. "I got an opportunity and for whatever reason I didn't play my best and I got injured."
Jagr, who can become an unrestricted free agent July 1, ranks second in NHL points (1,921), trailing Wayne Gretzky (2,857), is third in goals (766) behind Gretzky (894) and Gordie Howe (801), and third in games played (1,733) behind Howe (1,767) and Mark Messier (1,756).

Jagr is better at hockey than everyone in tonight's bottom 6
Of course I'd aim for a longer term solution but Jagr can help a team win

It's really too bad we waited so long to sign him. I think he had one more year in him, but he needed a full training camp to avoid having to catch up to game speed and avoid nagging injuries at that age.
I know hindsight and all but if Jagr was a guy you determined you were likely going to sign either sign him early enough to be part of the team or don't sign him. No one that age is getting a late start and succeeding.

Maybe he gets a PTO next year by another club if he is still considering playing in the NHL. I agree with one of the above posters, if he was the guy you wanted all along, why wait to sign him so late? There was no way he was going to come in and play at his best after missing training camp. He was rushed in, and I believe that is the reason he got injured. He was slow, but I still think he was effective to an extent.
