I like the timing of that. Gives fans a chance to say farewell without the entire season being a circus.

Great careers. Didn't hate them, hated their effectiveness in their prime. Hope they pull a Kobe Bryant and explode for a vintage Sedinery night in the next few games.

I hated them because they’d kill the flames, but always have respected them. They led some pretty damn good hockey teams. Congrats to them on their amazing careers

Damn. I will miss them. Great ambassadors for the game. They were hilarious in the NHL commercials.

They played in the 04 playoffs against Calgary, where they were still considered young up and comers. Didn't do much.

That'll open up some cap room. They can fit in Brouwer now.

Part of me wanted 1 more year so they could get a the proper send off, but on the other hand, a lower key goodbye really encapsulates them as Professionals. So you have to respect that.

It's sentimental, but I'm happy they will have only worn the Canucks jersey in the NHL. As a franchise we don't have many career Canucks, so it's nice to have two players of their caliber wear the jersey from the beginning to the end. It's part of the reason I never wanted them traded to "help the rebuild"

They played pretty good this year considering their age. I really thought they would do one more year. I hate Canucks but they were not too bad.

I had a lot of fun and laughs at their expense over the years, but they were always great hockey players.

True pros and it's nice to see guys remain with one team for their entire careers once in a while still.

Each of their averages over the 17 seasons played:

Daniel
79GP 24G 39A 63PTS

Henrik
80GP 14G 50A 64PTS

It's wild, the consistency of their careers.

It would have been so weird if one retired and the other one didnt...

Consummate Professionals. I enjoyed hating them all these years.

I'm surprised they didn't leave Vancouver at some point in their later years to try to go to a winner. Very loyal to the Canucks. I can respect that. They will perhaps be the biggest icons in Canucks history?

In Canucks history up to this point, I would definitely say yes.

If the Canucks ever win a cup, a player or two on that team will eclipse them. But, haha, the Canucks will NEVER win a cup!

So, yes, the Sedins will remain the biggest icons in Canucks history for all time!

Always classy guys. Probably could've squeezed a year or two out of the Canucks or somewhere else. And to leave it to the last week officially means not as big a media circus.

Always a threat even this year, when they were both on. Unstoppable when they wanted to be for the most part if their career.

Looking for the vid where they congratulated Stajan who was Mic'd up for the playoff series 3 years back.

Pretty amazing numbers considering they didn't have a good/great winger pretty much their entire careers.

Good lord. That team is going to have like fifteen million in cap space next year.
