Default Mover recommendations

We are going to be moving homes soon and just looking for any recommendations on movers.
Obviously look for something that is good on price, but don't want to sacrifice the safety of our stuff.
Any great experiences that folks can pass on?

Not the cheapest rates but when you are paying by the hour you want guys that will hustle and still not trash your stuff or your house.

We used Highland Moving

http://www.highlandmoving.com/

Were hourly, at a decent rate (We had them send 3 guys) - bunch of super friendly guys and they got it done faster than their hourly estimate. Didn't break a thing.

I remember commenting to a friend later: "They worked like they were on a flat rate instead of hourly. Some of the most efficient movers I've ever seen."

I know a number of people who use We Care Professional Moving which includes several luxury homes that I would assume have some items needing special attention / special moves.

If looking to save some money, I noticed Uhaul has an option where you rent the truck and then a screen comes up where you can select movers. You choose the time you need them for and number of guys and it tells you the price right on the screen.

Also, ecobox is the only way to move IMO. $150 (varies depending on how many boxes you need) and they drop off a ton of large plastic boxes. Cuts down on the packing time and the move time as its straight forward and easier for movers. Once you have moved, they come pick the bins up from you. I have a 10% off promo code if you are interested.

Oh, yeah. I loved this. No need to go hunting around for boxes. You 'rent' the boxes for a month, divided up however you want. I went with getting them 3 weeks before the move, and having them picked up 1 week after.

Movers also love them, because they fit together really nicely in the truck, making stacking/packing easy and fast.

I had a bad experience with Highland, so last time out I used Premiere Van Lines. More expensive, but the move went well.

I’ve used JL Delay Moving numerous times (I’ve moved quite a bit, unfortunately). They’re always friendly, on time, and take excellent care of your stuff.

I used Two Amigos about 6 years ago. The local Calgary based crew was great - they were running up the ramp to load stuff. Fast and careful I might add.

I had a less great experience with a Vancouver based crew they brought in 3 years ago to fill in during peak move season. Didn't have half the jump as the Calgary guys. Maybe ask which crews are available.
