Thumbs up Flames vs Rangers, 7:00 PM, MST. Sportsnet West, Fan 960

(man, GDTs are so much more fun when the Flames play interested)

Lots of questions going into tonight's tilt: Will the Flames come to play? Do the Rangers care anymore? Will someone throw a pocket dog at Bettman if he shows his face? Gillies or Rittich? Will Johnny go full heel and clobber someone with his stick?

Tonight isn't exactly the battle of the basement, but with New York out of the playoff picture and Calgary playing like they don't want to punch their ticket it's lacking a certain excitement. However, Our Hero is always hoping for victory, and does his part to boot the Rangers further down the list:

Spoiler!

Go Flames

They have a bad record against the Rangers. Home and away.

I hate predicting losses but this game has loss written all over it. About all they have going for them is that they need this game but when have we seen them get up for the ones that matter? Not often enough.

Not a must win, but to me its a 'must show up' game. Flames should be the better team on the ice.

4-1 Flames. Tkachuk x 2, Hamilton, Monahan

I think the flames will win this one in a blowout after what happened the last game

Season is on the line in these next couple games.

Win and you have a chance at getting into the dance. Lose and they might as well pack er in and get the clubs out.

This is as much of a must win as the team has had this year.

With the way the kings are rolling right now the flames are needing to go on a streak to stay in contention

The Flames are such a Jeckyl and Hyde team, sometimes within the same game. I have no idea what to expect anymore.

Will the Flames show up?
If they do show up and get the early lead, will they blow it?
Will the Rangers get 7 PPs?
Will Gulutzan get another bench minor?
Will the PP ever score again?

Just play hard. Whatever the result, play to win and I'll be happy

I feel like the Stewart and Shore pick ups have just muddied the waters in what was an already dismal looking bottom six.

I wish I didn't feel so apathetic about this team right now. I want to get excited about them but I just PVR the games and fast forward through most of it at this point.

C'mon boys! Come out tonight with a little fire in your bellies!

I think this is going to be bad..... Flames likely have a great start, rangers get a break and score and flames crumple for a loss due to the must-win pressure.

Absolutely a must win, the Rangers have thrown in the towel already.

McDonagh, Nash, Grabner, all gone. Lundqvist a shadow of his former self.

The Rags have been stripped of their best players. Not excuse to not win this one. I know there's a ton of games left the Flames are only 1 point out. But if they find a way to lose this one...not good.

The same Lundqvist that relieved an injured Pavelec and stoned the Flames at MSG?

I'd like to see what Shore actually brings in a couple of games before throwing his name into that statement. As for Stewart... yeah, he can be so much more but is too inconsistent and too old to change now.

I too would like to see what Shore can bring as a 4C. He's a more complete player than Stewart and could help our bottom 6.
