Default Flames 3 Devils 2

Flames 3 Devils 2

- Solid two periods followed by a shaky third
- Monahan scores two
- Gaudreau puts on a show at home
- Rittich continues to prove he's the deal

Have to give it Dave Cameron and the Flames powerplay for finding a way to achieve success with the man advantage; don’t ice it!

It seems so unusual to see a flames team with a much better road record than at home. Any takes on what the high level reason is ? pure chance on small sample size or a real change of approach home/away ?

in all seriousness they actually play better at home.

All situations ...

CF%
Home 53%
Road 50%

Shots
Home 52%
Road 48%

Scoring Chances
Home 55%
Road 50%

But special teams ...

Home PK 78.6%
Road PK 82.1%

Home PP 14.3%
Road PP 22.7%

Goaltending ...

Home 90.7%
Road 92.5%

Shooting %

Home 8.2%
Road 9.2%

Better goaltending, special teams and luck on the road.

Maybe it is time to start Rittich more at home.

It'll be interesting to see if Versteeg can gel with Bennett and Jankowski when he's back.

They play a simpler game on the road. And they go to the net more, instead of trying to make the extra pass and the pretty play.
