Probably no coincidence that Jankowski & Bennett completely cooled off when Brouwer was put on their right, but the signs were there even when Hathaway was on their line. Feels like they were thrown an anchor instead of a life preserver.

Brouwer's been the best player on that line recently. In fact, I think he's played pretty well over the past couple of weeks. Nothing spectacular, but he's been solid.

Yeah the rot on that line isn't on Brouwer.

Jankowski looks spooked, and Bennett looks desperate again. It's that pattern. No production so try harder, but try harder spirals into silly penalties. He's a good kid but he's very mentally fragile. Hopefully they find a way to get him over the hump and on to a good career.

Also starting to wonder if they were premature in telling Hathaway to get a place ...

Bennett and Jankowski need Jagr back. People said Jagr was done. You take away the old guy and you have two kids that have nothing going on.

It’s pretty much the hockey equivalent of Weekend at Bernie’s.

Though Brouwer is playing better he is not the answer. I feel this line desperately needs an injection of new talent. Maybe a playmaker that can get MJ the puck so he can use that good shot I know he has.

Jankowski seems to be going through that rookie slump that many players do at this point in the year. I remember Monahan being practically invisible during his rookie season during January and February and he recovered late in the season.

Give the kid some time. The NHL season is long and rough on new players.

Honestly I would saddling Brouwer to Stajan. And I would be playing Lazar with the other 2. Youth is what is needed on that line.
