Vancouver Canucks at Calgary Flames - 7:00 MST
The Flames are riding a three game winning streak, while the Canucks are coming off of a 3-2 loss to Detroit last night.
The Flames attempt to take advantage of another team coming off of a back to back.
Will Jagr ever play hockey again? Will Smith look human once again, or return to superhero form? Will Tkachuk continue to make us giggle in glee? Will Flames goals continue to automatically be accompanied by Gaudreau's name in the points column? Will Jankowski score?
Most importantly, will Bennett ever score an NHL point again?
Discuss.

Interesting if Rasmus gets the call tonight, does Lack get a go against his team too?

Hopefully yes, and hopefully no.
Flames only play 5 times between now and Nov 20. I expect Smith starts them all.
Six games from Nov 20 to 30. Hopefully the Flames firing on more cylinders by then - I think they are close.

Big game against a divisional opponent who played and lost last night. Flames need to start strong and set the tone. Big two points up for grabs

I hope they come out and dominate. Nothing worse than losing to a rebuilding Canucks team

I'm hoping that 3rd line can get going. On Hockey Central they were talking about why Vegas was doing so well and basically said that because they have a collection of players who don't feel as much pressure to get on the score sheet on a nightly basis it makes them play a looser, team first type of game... that's the theory anyways. I was thinking, maybe the opposite is true for our 3rd line right now: Bennett is likely thinking too much about how he needs to score, not about how he needs to play as a team with his linemates. I think the same could be said of Lazar, as this is kind of his chance to reclaim his career and Jankowski wants to stay in the lineup so he's likely feeling pressure to score... it looks like it could be a bad combination. Hopefully when Jagr comes back and Lazar gets pushed to the 4th line we see some better production out of our bottom 6.

Any chances Jagr is back tonight? Or has he already been ruled out?

So just how many games will Smith start this year? 70 to 75?

Green was saying that if Canucks had won last night that Demko would get the start tonight. Now he is not sure if he goes back to Markstrom or not.
Nilsson and his wife are expecting a baby anytime now so that is why Demko is up in case you were wondering.

We've had a pretty fortunate schedule so far this year with getting teams on the tail end of back to backs. We have to take advantage of this as much as possible.
The Canucks are actually a pretty decent team these days. Still plenty of holes to fill in, but they have some nice pieces and the coach has them playing a good team game.
Still wish things with Baertschi turned out a bit different here. He'd be a nice supporting piece on this Flames team right now.

Personally, I'd expect these to be the lines tonight
Gaudreau Monahan Ferland
Tkachuk Backlund Frolik
Bennett Jankowski Jagr
Versteeg F. Hamilton Brouwer
Giordano D. Hamilton
Brodie Stone
Kulak Andersson
Lack

I would like lack to get the start tonight. We can't run Smith into the ground.

I sure hope not. The reason he has played so much already has a lot to do with the Flames weird schedule with lots of breaks between games. I would imagine that once the dates start to bunch together Lack will see more regular action. Playing a starting goalie in +65 games is NOT a recipe for success for any team.

Monahan has scored in three straight games since he autographed my toaster. Coincidence?
Prediction for tonight: Flames win 3-2. GFG.

After this home stand, the schedule starts getting busier. They have three days off between the Detroit game on Thursday and the St Louis game on Monday. After that, they don't have more than 2 days off in a row until Christmas. They have 4 two-day breaks and 3 back-to-backs during that time.
Lack should start seeing more action during that time.
