McDavid Creates Stir With Trump Costume
We all know the Oilers are no good but McJesus and future Mrs. McJesus pulled off a pretty hilarious costume.....ridiculous that anyone is actually up in arms about this.
http://www.tsn.ca/mcdavid-creates-st...stume-1.901686
My favorite caption, however: "It appears Connor McDavid misinterpreted the Oilers' need for offensive right wingers."

People are way too hyper sensitive these days and spending way to much time on social media.
Its not that they're pissed off about Conner's costume, its more about, everyone forgot about me so I should announce my presence and be angry so people will pay attention to me.
Heck I went to 7-11 today on the way back to work and say a girl dressed in a bikini and red tie and Trump wig and her friend was wearing a putin mask and the whole slutty trump throwing herself at Putin to me was hilarious.
But some people would look at it as an opportunity to pretend to be enllightened and angry about it so their friends can read their post and nod their head about how socially aware and on point their friend is.

The only remotely offensive thing about this is how boring and expected a Trump costume is this Halloween.

Wyshinski (sp?) on ESPN was the only person on twitter I saw complaining about this. With maybe 2 people supporting him.
Nothing story.
Also, was out in Edmonton on Saturday night and there were about 1000 people dressed as Trump... I am sure Calgary and other places had similar numbers...

This is interesting.
On the one hand he's the president, how can it be bad to dress up as the president.
But he's also admitted to sexually assaulting women and enjoying hanging out in the change rooms so he can drool over minors behind the scenes at his pageants (ie he's also basically a pedo).
With everything that's going on right now and the current climate surrounding rapists and sexual assault, I'm not sure that a very public figure who is a role model for young kids should be dressing up as someone who likes to sexually assault women and leer at naked pre-teens.
I know the situations aren't perfectly comparable but if he won't dress up as Bill Cosby, Kevin Spacey or Harvey Weinstein, then he shouldn't dress up as Trump.

News stories are getting so lazy now:
Quote:
Connor McDavid's decision to dress as Donald Trump for a Halloween party has received a polarizing reaction on social media.
|
Current article recipe for anything posted on social media:
1) "[Action on social media] has received a [mixed/polarizing/varied/diverse] reaction on [social media site]"
2) Post several tweets/comments/etc. from both sides
3) End with tweet/comment/ect. from an objective standpoint that is humorous

Thought he was disguising himself as a typical Edmontonian so he could enjoy the night in relative anonymity.

If you dress up as a witch, ghoul, vampire or slutty nurse it does not mean you support the witch, ghoul, vampire or slutty nurse in any way, shape or form. It is a costume and supposed to be funny, creepy and/or scary in nature. I would suggest you not take it so seriously.

Imagine if he dressed up as a devil - kids would be encouraged to grow up and literally become Satan!

A Trump Halloween costume is so 2016.
I agree this controversy is silly and I don't care. The only thing news worthy was the epic "offensive right winger" tweet.

It's funny that he likely would have had gotten less negative attention if he dressed up as Stalin or Hitler. People are so ridiculous with their politically correct outrage, it's Halloween for crying out loud, and his outfit was pretty simple yet effective.

No doubt hoping it will mean he's first in line with the Stanley Cup to shake Trump's hand at next year's White House reception.
Overly optimistic suck up!!!

Trumps appearance is so bizarre that it's virtually impossible to dress up as him without mocking him. How do you put on an orange complexion or replicate his absurd come-over without mocking him?

yeah,
I've seen about a dozen Gord Downies today...
Just in my isolated area of the +15.
Mrs Trumpus looks to be Healthy Young Lady as well...
I think she has benefited from a good upbringing and well balanced nutrition.

Whenever I hear of an article leading with "the Internet reacts negatively!" I always wonder if they are going to say Twitter is upset, or Instagram is. This article got both of them. Nicely done.

Yeah I mean Donald Trump is kind of a prototypical halloween costume; a monster in human form with a somewhat comical twist.

The only thing that's wrong with that costume is that he didn't roll in Cheeto dust before putting it on, so he was the right shade of orange.

It's beginning to feel like the "people are too sensitive these days" comments are often following events that just don't have that many people being sensitive.
