In the off season, Flames fans (among others) talked a lot of smack about the Edmonton Lotteries. It seems that the Oil fans are finally coming to see the light.
Everyone of these takes was suggested by Flames fans before the Coiler fans said them last night.

-Guys who will never be anything in the NHL: Caggiula, Pakarinen, Khaira, Strome, Auvitu and Benning.
On the Cap
- the ones who are actually hamstringing the future of the team: RNH, Lucic, Russell.
- Heh, there is no fixing the team next off season. They will have 17 million to sign 10 players. It isn't getting better than this.
On Lucic
- Lucic is so ****ing bad at hockey.
- Lucic is too slow. We need to trade for speed .
On “the Nuge”
-Only reason RNH is still on the team I think is because no other team wants a $6 million player who can't score or defend.
-The last time to get decent value for Nuge was 2 summers ago.
On the D
- Klefbom - brain dead. Can't hit the net to save his life. Makes the kind of pinches that would embarrass Phaneuf. Not physical at all. Thinks he's better than he is. Not a top pairing guy at all. Not even close.
- Russell - overpaid and being asked to do too much. Don't hate the player but he's let his shot blocking prowess go to his head and now tries to block everything. Looks like last days Laddy Smid out there sometimes swimming around on his back. Suffers from brain cramps. Look at him tonight - skates it up to the blueline, stops, panics, lets the puck roll off his stick, just stands there and watches Malkin gobble it up and roll in on net.
- Benning - utter tire fire. Remember that 'Stud or dud' thread. Doesn't do anything well. Maybe OK for > ten minutes a night or injury fill in.
- Gryba - better than most of this board thinks, but undeniably slow. Prone to bad penalties. But at least he plays rough. Don't mind him on the bottom pairing.
- Auvitu - has shown nothing. Don't believe this is an NHLer. At best he's a bottom pairing guy.
- A guy like Sheldon Souray would piss all over this d-corps and you know it.
On the GM
- Lucic and Russell. Chia's stamp on the team. Nice
- Didn't chia brag about Lucic hockey IQ when he signed him... that play was dumb as ****....
- Ah, Strome... What a waste of a roster spot.
- Oh God no. I do not trust Chia making a trade lol
- Chia got rid of Hall, Yak, and Ebs and we're now in a position where we need to rebuild again for offense. Too bad we're stuck with Lucic and Russell contracts...
On the Coach
- Lucic in OT again great coaching Tmac he did same thing last season .
- This is a bad hockey team and unfortunatey, they are coached by a bad coach.
- Letestu on the top line, Russell on the PP, Lucic out in a 3 on 3 OT. ****ing idiot.
Stupid coach puts a stupid player on the ice in OT, who misses the net (something you NEVER do in OT), and costs us the game. Todd is a Tard.
- I’ve been lenient with Mclellan so far but having Lucic out there 3 on 3, especially against a team like the Penguins, was Eakins level bad.
- Mclellan is starting to look like a product of Thornton, Pavelski, Marleau etc and not vice versa
