Those Vegas bookies are geniuses with how they’re gonna pillage Edmontonians pocket books.

I'm a seller of Edmonton and Toronto, and a buyer of Calgary. And Winnipeg at 50-1

(I know what betting odds are), but Calgary has the 9th highest odds in the west, so theoretically suggesting they are not expected to make the playoffs.

interesting that Vegas's odds are only 5th worst, when they have the worst roster on paper.

I can only guess that's because of where the money is being put. Having a new team, I'd suggest some locals are putting money on the Knights, thus skewing them upwards, as they are in no way a 66-1 team

It's as much supply and demand as it is actual odds of winning.

If boatloads of Edmontonians are buying their own bull#### hype and betting on their team, why give them great odds? You'll make money regardless as a bookie.

I like those Calgary odds though. Decent money to be had.

So, does this read. Bet 1000 and get x back if they win the cup?

Its 100% supply and demand

More money coming in on a team, the lower the odds...that is how the house wins

Is there an easy way to bet online?

Obviously I'm not someone who does it much...

No surprise, McDavid is the best player in the game. Every generational talent has one multiple Cups.

Using Calgary as an example;

You bet $100 on them to win the SC and they do = a $2800 return

Lots of safe and secure sites.

A popular one with Canadians is Bodog.

A team that is +x is bet $100 to win $x (plus your original wager). A team that is -x is bet $x to win $100 (plus wager)

So betting $100 on Calgary at +2800 means you'd receive back $2900 if we won the Cup. If we were -2800, you would have to bet $2800 to get back $2900.

How often are these right? What were the Vegas odds the last 3-5 years?

Vegas rarely misses.

That said, these odds will change dramatically as games are played.
