My condolences Habernac. That's not a good hockey team.

Some really weird deals. Bergevin grasping at straws. The Price deal was too much, their D is pretty weak. Drouin will need to be a world beater for this team to compete.

If small, skilled, one dimensional winger is the new MO, Should have gotten hudler instead.
Gallagher, Byron, droiun, Hemsky....

Such a redundant player on this roster. Why do the Habs always bring in the soft euro guys?

Nothing left for Bergevin to do but go all in for Draisaitl

They are brutal at center ice. Until they fix that they don't have a prayer.
Depth based on last year's point production:
Galchenyuk??? (played lots of wing over the last few years instead of center)
Danault
Plekanec
Mitchell
Martinsen/Holland
Unless they move Galchenyuk back to center full time, that lineup is in trouble.
You know who would look good at the top of that list of centers? Draisaitl.

Just spit-ballin' their lineup as of right now:
Pacioretty-Galchenyuk-Hemsky
Drouin-Danault-Gallagher
Byron-Plekanec-Shaw
Lehkonen-Mitchell-Hudon???
Alzner-Weber
Davidson-Petry
Schlemko-Benn
Price-Montoya
It's a little more balanced than last year, but there is a dearth of top end talent offensively. Draisaitl would make too much sense for them, especially since they have extra picks next year to mitigate the loss of picks from an offer sheet.

Yea, it makes too much sense. If they stay away from Markov they actually have the cap space as well.

At least their forwards are pretty quick. That could help.
But yeah, that top 4 doesn't exactly scream cup contender either. Outside of Weber's shot, where's the offensive contribution?

The Habs centre group is laughably bad, like expansion team bad. Only thing they have close to a top-6 centre is Galchenyuk, but he's more of a winger lol.
Plekanec is well past his best before date.
