Expect Ryan Murphy, acquired by CAL, to be on waivers for buyout. Been a tough year, will get a fresh start to pick a new destination.

Don't really get it - guess they just don't want him blocking a spot for a young guy.

Would have liked to see what he could bring in training camp and then just bury him in minors if need be.

Because of his age, the buyout penalty is only for two years and only for ~100k.

Most Canes fans thought Murphy was terrible. Surprised the Flames bought him out, but given his small contract, they must not see any NHL upside in the kid either.
