Ok now I see why Calgary didn't bring him back. That's a lot of dough

Too much $'s. Flames couldn't have afforded at that price.

Happy for Chad Johnson getting a raise from last season. Love the guy and he's a consumate pro. Played hard and never complains. Would have love for him to come back to the Flames but not that amount. The Eddie Lack trade is becoming to be an awesome deal for the Flames(only costing them $1.3M+ a season).

good guy - wish him all the success in the world in buffalo.

can't blame the guy - he's on the downside of his career trajectory now as a 28 yr old... gotta make some bank at this point in his career.

If you are basing it on last season's numbers it's not a very good deal but if you are basing it on his last season in Buffalo it's all right. If he bounces back and has a better season he will likely be able to keep collecting $2.5 million or so on these short term deals.

That's pseudo- starter money. I guess someone thinks he can get the job done, but I'm glad we passed.
