Default Suggestions for Mother's Day Brunch?

Preferably SW Calgary - not too casual, not too fancy - ok for young children

Does La Villa do a brunch?

If you want, I'll take your mother out for a nice Lobster dinner...

Then never call her

It used to be called Francisco's on Southland Drive, not sure what it is called now but it is in the hotel on Southland Drive just off of Macleod (1 block east). Too lazy to look it up....Anyways, it is the best brunch in town IMO. The omletes that they make are the best! There is a little bit of everything. Really casual place for brunch and you don't feel like they are rushing you out....Nice place to spend an hour or so and walk out stuffed!

The Carriage House is nice - the place itself is a little worn but they put on a great spread and the food is excellent. They have an omelet station, pancake/waffle station as well as the usual suspects in the buffet generally and it doesn't break the bank. It's very family friendly and can hold decent sized crowds but you should get a reservation now. You can just walk in but you might end up waiting a bit.

Thanks, keep it coming. Carriage House sounds good - I have been there for a big birthday party.

I have found that Golf Courses generally do a great brunch for mothers day.

Smugglers puts on a very good brunch on Sundays. Lots of stuff for all people. There's several egg type items like eggs benny, but also good ham and roast beef, etc.

I think at this late date, you better take an opening at the Carriage House if you can. Places like golf courses, or anywhere in the Kananaskis, Banff etc, have been sold out a couple of months.

For future reference, the hotel at Kananaskis puts on a very nice buffet as well and is very family oriented.

Yeah, Smugglers is great, but at this date probably all filled up.

The Ranch down in Fish Creek Park puts on an excellent brunch

Very nice location, a little bit more on the fancy side but still OK for younger children

One place that I like is the Naturbahn Tea House at COP. It is at the top of the ski hill and the view is great and so is the food. They only do it for special events like Mothers Day.

My favourite brunch spot is the Glenmore Inn. The dining room looks great, but more importantly, the food is outstanding. I love the chocolate fountain!

It is east of Deerfoot on Glenmore Trail.

Last year we took my mom to a brunch at the zoo. It was really good and you have a built in activity for the kids when you're done.

Not a good idea for me, my kids act like monkey's on acid and would no doubt be caged and put on display. Then again...hmmm...

Default Mother's Day Brunch

Little known restaurant in The Travelodge called Ryley's on Sunridge Blvd N.E. (behind sunridge Mall) has a Mother's Day buffet. I went to the Easter Buffet guys and it was awesome, Chocolate fountain was the best choc I think I have ever had. Price was reasonable and the food was outstanding.

I am going to go and I think they still have space because few people know about the place and they have only done one once before.

I have heard that Symon's Valley Ranch has a good brunch. Has anyone here tried it?

Bump. Any new ideas? We're in McKenzie Towne (so something in the vicinity would be great) and having both our Moms in for Mother's Day brunch. Something tasteful but not an arm and a leg.
