Taking a while to get to 5000

Wow. Didn't expect Murray to go. All that tanking and no chance to enjoy the fruits of the labor.

Thinking the same thing.
But on another note, Murray made some bad moves and Bylsma just couldnt get anything out of them.
Eichel factor or not, time to move on.
"Hey Dan! We're going to pay you for the next 4 years to not be in Buffalo!!"

Tim Murray, we barely knew ye.
Seemed like a super ineffective GM. Ownership interference?

Well, that didn't take long. What Jack wants, Jack gets.
I'm going to miss Murray's brevity at the Draft.

Too bad. I liked his approach at the draft where he would just go up and make the selection instead of making a speech and thanking everyone under the sun before they make their pick.

Murray not even allowed to see the results of his rebuild.
Seems like a really quick fire.
I'm going to miss Dwight Schrute.

Wow. Blysma is not a surprise at all but Murray is. I thought he added some good pieces but I didn't think Blysma was getting enough from the team. This is why I hope the Flames retain Treliving as these teams that are rarely stable are rarely good.

Neighbour envy probably played a role. The Leafs tanked later and improved faster. It was probably very hard for the Sabres to not judge the state of their squad against the one just up the road.

Blysma's stock has fallen pretty far. Have to imagine he's going to have to go to an assistant role for a while before he gets another head coach opportunity.

I wonder if Tim Murray gave ownership an ultimatum and lost out?
Untenable situation to have a young star have their coaching demands leak.

I could see Bylsma in Vancouver next year.

Not shocking. I expect Lombardi to land in Buffalo and Stevens to be the coach if LA let's him go

Tough though because the lottery balls went the Leafs way and not the Sabres. Also the Leafs had to offer a monster contract to get the better coach.

Edmonton totally stole their future, McDavid should be a Sabre right now. One of those teams I always had a soft spot for, that would've been awesome seeing how he would've revitalized them, they'd be an exciting team to watch right now. That must just eat at them and their fans knowing what could've (should've) been.
