Icon24 Stars trade Odyua to Blackhawks for Mark McNeill and a conditional 4th

David Pagnotta @TheFourthPeriod
Oduya was suppose to play, got told he's not suiting up and is being traded. Waiting on details.

Mark Lazerus @MarkLazerus
A Johnny Oduya trade is definitely happening, likely in the next half hour or so. Still not confirmed it's to the #Blackhawks

A few people have been saying it is to Chicago

Lol Commodore's twitter was spouting off about him to Pittsburgh. Would be hilarious if that came true.

How does that conversation go?

"We want Johnny Oduya."

"Oh, do ya?"

Bob McKenzie @TSNBobMcKenzie
Pete @Real_ESPNLeBrun, CHI trades Mark McNeill and conditional fourth round pick for Oduya.

McNeill was on waivers earlier this season. Was reported earlier today that the Hawks were trying to give McNeill and Pokka fresh starts with other teams.

Pierre LeBrun @Real_ESPNLeBrun
That 4th round pick can become a 3rd depending on Chicago"s playoff performance

Kris Russell conditions strike again

Bob McKenzie @TSNBobMcKenzie
If CHI wins two rounds and Oduya plays in 50 per cent or more of CHI games, fourth-round pick becomes a third-round pick to DAL.

The more big names go to contenders in the west the more pointless non-big name acquisitions become for the Flames.

This seems quite cheap for the Hawks. What am I missing?

some concerns about Odyua's ankle. Coming off a serious injury.

I wouldn't call Oduya a big name,

He will be a very nice number 4 D-man to go with Seabrook.

And any guy that keeps Rozival off the ice is good with me.

McN had slipped down the prospect charts for the Hawks so is expendable.

Yeah, playoff exposure makes some players names feel bigger than they are. I think Oduya is one of them who has benefited from exposure during his successful playoff career so far.
