Default Federal By-elections - April 3, 2017

There are 5 upcoming by-elections in what is seen as the first test for the Liberal govt.

3 in Ontario to replace Liberals (Dion, McCallum and Belanger), and 2 in Calgary to replace Conservatives (Harper and Kenney)

Here are the candidates in the running for Calgary:

Calgary Heritage
Conservative - Bob Benzen
Liberal - Scott Forsyth
NDP - Khalis Ahmed
Green - Taryn Knorren
Libertarian - Darcy Gerow

Calgary Midnapore
Conservative - Stephanie Kusie
Liberal - Haley Brown
NDP - Holly Heffernan
Green - Ryan Zedic

-----------------------------------

Anybody know anything about any of the candidates? Forsyth's people are out campaigning already. They (and maybe him too) came to our door yesterday just before I came home (they left their flyer, and I saw them a few doors up) This morning, I saw a bunch of them waving signs and dancing on Macleod Trail this morning near Heritage. Seems like a silly way to promote a politician, but I guess sometimes, it's just about getting some name recognition out there.

Yeah I attended the candidates debate in Heritage for the Conservative Party where Kusie won. I think she did ok in the debate, but TBH I liked another Conservative Candidate better because he seemed to have a stronger understanding of economic issues.

Well... you noticed it and are now talking about them so it seems pretty effective. Anyways these 5 will all be incumbent party lay-ups.
