Yeah, Bart, Khokhlachev, and a 1st for Iginla was the offer Chiarelli/Feaster agreed to.

yes he was supposed to be part of return from the Bruins for Iginla

last NHL team was the Canucks where he didn't do so well, so likely Gulutzan had a hand in this.

If it was for Stockton he would be in Stockton.

as for now, it looks like they are going to try this instead of adding a rental at the deadline

Is he eligible for the expansion draft?

Otherwise, I don't like this. I guess it's no risk, but if he gets into games and costs the Flames, then I really won't like it.

good point. because he played 80 games last season for the Canucks he will satisfy the expansion draft requirement IF he is signed for next season like it is being reported

He has played about 150 games in NHL, maybe he can push the D prospects a little harder i.e. more competition.

Or might he backfill Engelland is he is traded.

How does it go from a PTO to signed all of next season, without actually seeing him in action?

Pretty shrewd move if he covers the requirement of NHL d-man signed that can be exposed.

Cue the "low risk signing" rationale.
