Burns ties it up in the Sharks/Devils game with an absolutely ridiculous wrist shot that nobody ever could have stopped. Wow. I want them to lose of course, but that was something else.

Anybody watching the Red Wings-Wild game? Wow, Nyquist just speared Spurgeon right in the face after he was upset after getting a little shove from Spurgeon.
Ugly stuff. Should be a suspension.

Yeah that's a spear in the nose by Nyquist, and deliberate too. I'll be highly disappointed if there isn't a lengthy suspension for Gustav.

I've always thought the NHL was way too lenient with their suspensions. I'd give him at least 10 or 15, which means the NHL will probably give him 2 or 3.

I think Brent Burns is my favourite non-Flame player.
Everything about him is awesome.

It's just so wrong that Nyquist is still allowed to play in this game.

That has to be a minimum of 10 games, and I say 10 only because it's Nyquist. If it were a repeat offender, 20 games.
Absolutely disgusting. He was only a couple inches away from ending Spurgeon's career.

Might be tough for refs to see severity of play in real time. However this should be something where the league can call down and get them to take a look at it and make the call to kick him out after.

The "not a repeat offender" thing is so stupid when it comes to lesser or no suspensions handed out. How many freebies do you get before you get your first suspension?
I agree something like this demands a big suspension, clear intent to injure and could have been VERY serious. I'm expecting just a couple games though, if that.
