Mark Jankowski Stepping Up in Stockton
A good article on Mark Jankowski, he seems to be doing very good. This is a comment from the article, "Jankowski may need more development time in the AHL", How much more time does he need?

If think he has to come up and play at least 10 games this year, he may not set the world on fire but it'll go a long way in his development and give him a better chance at making the team out of camp next year. It's time for the team to start putting their prospects in a position to develop then succeed.

As much as I want him up in the NHL this year, I think it may be better for his development if he could be part of a playoff run with Stockton, if Stockton can make it (currently 5th in division and top 4 make it).

I'd like to see what he could do playing with the big team as well. I just feel like Sam Bennett is an ideal left winger and Monahan, Backlund, Jankowski would look great as our center depth down the road.

The second half of your quoted sentence.
But I would hazard a guess that next year he get's a few larger chunks of games in the show and doesn't fully make this team until 2018-2019.
But I have always been a huge fan and believer in Jankowski and would love to see him be a mainstay in the lineup sooner rather than later.

Haynes now has Jankowski listed as our number one prospect and expects he will crack the lineup next year: http://www.flamesfrom80feet.ca/2017/...prospects.html

The comparable I see when I look at him is Martin Hanzal

The crappy thing for Jankowski is that Backlund and Stajan are having standout years at the moment.
Its like the guys hes supposed to replace see him coming and are really stepping up.

That's ok because I think the Flames may sell high on Stajan at the deadline this year and I really do feel that Bennett may slide to the wing when Janko asserts himself at this level for a season. I think he's full time early next year.

I don't know what game this is from but what an epic celebration. Can't wait to see him up in actual Flames silks.

Meh..If management felt that Jankowski was really ready, they would find a way to make it work. There's a lot of room in our forward group for an NHL ready prospect. If Jankowski was ready, we would move Bennett to the wing for a trial and have Jankowski/Backlund as our #2/3 centres.
I'm totally fine with Jankowski being developed longer. If we can turn him into a big, 2 way, top six centre that is difficult to deal with that's exactly what we need. If you bring him up too early, you risk him becoming a Joe Colborne type of player. Jankowski is better off learning leadership skills in Stockton than getting bottom six minutes in Calgary.
