Well it appears the Blues have now fallen back into the mediocre team pack which is good for Flames fans. Armstrong should probably be the one that got the axe here. Terrible idea in the first place to have your head coach's replacement on the bench for the season. Mike Yeo isn't even a very good coach, the roster has hit the wall, and the goaltending situation is a mess.

If Treliving doesn't atleast talk to Hitch, he should be fired. Hitch is a premier coach we need a guy like him to bring us to the next level in my eyes.

I thought Hitchcock wanted to ride into the sunset after this season? I wouldn't mind him here, just about anybody is an upgrade on GG. Doubt he comes tho.

Was he not going to retire at the end of the season anyway? I don't think you want to bring in a guy that's not sure if he wants to continue coaching.

No, he never spoke of retiring as far as I know. Just spoke to this being his last season with St Louis.

Hitch has 781 career wins; just one short of tying Al Arbour

Upgrade over GG, doesn't hurt to ask if he still wants to coach in the NHL for a few more years.

Hitch wasn't the blues problem, the goaltending was/is. Jake Allen has been awful, as my fancy team standing proves.

Maybe Hitch can turn Johnny into Tarasenko!

I know someone on the Blues and he said Hitch is regressing as a coach. I think the Flames can upgrade GG without having to hire Hitch.

Upgrading GG is pretty easy. I don't know what goes into regressing as a coach, but give me the regressing Hitch.

Bring him on board as a consultant. He can hang out with Maloney when he's in town.

Talk to him for sure. You have to given where the Flames are at. At worst you get the input of a veteran, highly successful coach on what he would do with the Flames. He might have insight on how to jumpstart Elliot as well.

I hope Dallas speaks to him as well, because i'd love to see Ruff here.

I still have this dream that GG gets punted after this season. Then Sutter parts ways with the Kings after going out first round. Sutter comes home and whoops the team into shape.

Maybe I am on crazy pills...
