Hello All,

I just had a quick question for you all. I have had glasses/Contacts since I was 10 years old after all this time I have realized that I completely fed up with wearing contacts and glasses.

I have looked into the option of laser eye surgery (Lasik) and according to the criteria I am canidate to have it done.

The only problem is that when it comes to my eyes I am really sketchy about getting this done.

I was just wondering if any of you have had it done or know of anyone that has had it and what the feedback was.

I've got a buddy who has never saved a nickle in his life, but he saved for laser eye surgery. It took a couple of months to get full night vision back, but to this day, he's nothing but glad that he did it.

Personally, I can't wait to get it done. I've had glasses/contacts since I was eight and I am sick of the hassle. It's just too bad I'm only 19 and I have to wait a few years for my eyes to finish growing or whatever.

I wanted to get laser eye surgery before the summer, but I ended up joining a ball hockey league (you know which one). So I got it done the Friday after my FHL season ended and haven't regreted it one bit.

I went with Lasik MD and it ended up costing me $1740. The only thing I regretted was getting the lifetime warrenty for $400 which brought the cost to $2138

I now have 20/20 vision and would definately recommend laser eye surgery to anyone and everyone

I'm not sure about later in life, but I'm loving it right now. Don't have to worry about those nights of heavy drinking when you leave the contact lenses in your eyes and you peel them out the next morning. Your vision doesn't get blurred and your eyes don't get sore when working in a dry environment. You wake up in the morning and you can actually see the time on your alarm clock! The procedure is painless, but watching the video before hand was kinda disturbing. The process probably takes two minutes to do.

Thanks for the feedback!

Just wondering what the recovery time is like... I am a student still and would need to be back at school in class relatively soon...

Would I be able to see again the next day? Two days? Week?

They sell a lifetime warranty? That gets me angry with electronics, but for surgery?
I have a friend whose eyes weren't done adjusting, and she can no longer see properly... she wishes she got the lifetime warranty.

I have always wanted to get lasik done, but haven't gotten around to it. I know a few people who have had it done and love it. Then I ran into this a month ago and am having second thoughts:

Kathy Griffin's lasik experience

Not a fun experience for her.

Not an easy call to make - your eyesight is a tough thing to replace if you lose it.
