Nashville Predators President of Hockey Operations/General Manager David Poile announced Friday that the club has acquired forward Cody McLeod from the Colorado Avalanche in exchange for forward Felix Girard.
Girad is a 2013 4th round pick of the Preds, who doesn't appear to be doing much in the AHL.
Hrudey said last week he has fallen out of the good graces of the team where he´s been for a long time , still has a year left on his deal at over $1MM and is more or less playing his way out of the league.
Weird that they're using one of their three retained salary spots on such a relatively small salary. I guess you have to do whatever it takes to make a deal happen.
Also, looking at their payroll, most of their big-money deals have at least two more seasons on them (only Iginla and Beauchemin are making more than $4 million on contracts that don't run past next season), so they're likely less willing to retain money on those deals.

I feel like I have been reading for years as well about how the Avs are an internal budget team.
I think the prospect of a team dealing with internal budget constraints from a cash strapped owner aren't likely to retain salary.
He fought with ex teammate Iggy... interesting to see, maybe selective memory but it seems like Iginla is getting into it with ex teammates a lot. Of course the recent stuff with Gio but I thought I remember it happening before as well, fighting some terrible castoff like Hale or Moss.

I'm pretty sure he fought Phaneuf after being traded to the Leafs. If they didn't fight they definitely almost fought a bunch of times.

Yeah I am pretty sure it was Brad Stuart a few years back, though Hale rings a bell as well.
