Oilers as a group very agressive with Backlund after he knocked mcdavid down. Any Oiler near backlund for the rest of the period hit, slashed, glove in face. Clear, definitive response as a group. Not sure if it was caught by the cameras on the broadcast or not. Oilers also very vocal to Backlund as well. Total opposite response to how the Flames responded to Anaheim doing much worse to Gaudreau
Interesting strategy by the Oilers in OT. They would keep posession and leave the offensive zone to then circle at center and come back on the attack at pace. Interesting strategy - more interested in the speed attack than the cycle game.
Even Oilers fans thought the 3rd period roughing call on Hamilton was a joke.
And the crowd was extremely, extremely loud booing that asshat Trudeau when he stuck his mug into the video tribute.

This is my #1 complaint with the team at this point. They have gotten bigger, and they initiate more physicality than they used to, but they still don't stand up for each other enough.
When teams go after Gaudreau (or whoever), the Flames have to be much more aggressive in their response.
MUCH more.
To me, that might even be more important, in their road to being legitimate competitors, than getting a top line RW.
