Thanks Bingo, good write-up!
This right here is my problem with the team:
Quote:
Shot attempts were 15-13 for the Flames, but don’t be fooled the scoring chances were 11-3 for the Devils.

Whenever this team faces difficulty in the neutral zone and at the offensive blue-line, they default to taking poor quality shots with no follow-up, or failed dump-ins where they never regain possession. It's been a problem all year, and they've yet to make a meaningful adjustment in-game or otherwise. It doesn't seem like they do this in error either. Rather they're doing it out of design in an effort to ensure safe 5v5 play, so that they can play that "50/50" game, and then try and win the special teams battle. It's frustrating to watch as fans, because it makes for very dull, and generally unsuccessful hockey (unless you have elite special teams - which to the Flames credit, they have had just that for a number of weeks now).
