The Red Wings will have to play three games in three nights in March
Just noticed they're playing March 26, 27, 28th and then again on the 30th. Has this ever happened in the modern era? Don't ever recall the Flames having to play 3 games in 3 nights.
This is because of one of the games being postponed but still weird to see.

This is just cruel. It's unsafe to the athletes as well. As a person who plays sports, I know how nice it is to get a little breather between games. You want to play, but there's always minor bruises and sore muscles in hockey. It's nice to let them heal a bit before playing again.

They had the option of playing the game during one of the breaks but they said no.

Back when the QC Flames were around, the AHL did it regularly to maximize the amount of weekend dates for teams to make money. I did a quick search of several AHL schedules this year and saw very few of these; Rockford had a handful but most other teams had 1 or 0. They cut games from the schedule so that certainly helped them clean it up I'm sure.

Vancouver did play three games in three nights before Christmas. They just weren't consecutive nights.

The only way that's possible is if they played two games on the same day?!? Took a night off and then played their 3rd game on the third day.

Yes it has and it was due to a postponement, a massive snowstorm in Denver, Colorado. The San Jose Sharks had to do it in March 2003.
March 20 on the road against the Avalanche
March 21 at home against the Bruins
March 22 at home against the Ducks
They played again on March 24 at home against the Lightning.
