Flames vs Dogs 7pm - The day the Flames started another winning streak
Can't lose 3 in a row here after the big streak. Time to start a new streak.
http://calgaryherald.com/sports/hock...zona-coyotes-3
Elliott likely getting the start either today or tomorrow.
Personally I'm hoping Hathaway draws back in.
Lineup updates when they come in.

The way I look at it, every team has a stinker now and then. That was vs Tampa.
The loss on the 19th was against arguably the hottest team in the NHL right now.
Tomorrows game will be the second of a back to back on the road, and again vs one the NHLs best. Tough game.
The Flames should win tonight. Almost a must win if we don't want to see a 4 game down streak. Not saying we can't win tomorrow, but lets not look past today.

I read this and was very confused... Flames app on my iPhone shows the game against the Sharks as being on Wednesday, then I checked NHL.com
EDIT: upon further review the app also had us playing back-to-back-to-back through California in early November. So much for quality control.

flames got themselves out of a hole and back into the mix with the win streak. Just like last year, at precisely the same time in the schedule.
2 losses in a row, 1 against one of the hottest team's in the league no less, however, a loss tonight, and it feels like we are back at square one.... just like last year, as soon as they got close, they had another losing skid which essentially killed the season.
Come on flames, snap back to the team we saw the past few weeks. I would imagine elliott starts tonight? Dude better come out and have a great showing. It's the perfect game for him to come in and start, against a struggling team, to build some confidence in his game and hopefully get on a bit of a roll hiimself, similar to how Johnson did in Nov/Dec.
Go Flames Go.

If Elliot regains form it will be perfect. We got a hotstreak from a goalie but unlike last year we have another goalie capable of having their own little run so we can string some more wins together. Must win since its such a weak team.

If Hathaway is healthy and doesn't draw back in tonight it's a stupid decision by the coaching staff.

I hope Hathaway draws back in. It seems that the team is more energized with him in the lineup.

Hathaway provides a valuable service. Agitate and rough up their players while our stars rest. While I think the extra day off broke the team's rhythm, I also think removing Hathaway played an equal role in the loss of momentum.
You don't #### with a winning formula.
Hathaway and Johnson should both be in tonight. Elliott can go tomorrow unless Johnson pitches the shut out.

Why? Let the Flames have this one and make the playoffs. Let the Yotes draft #1. You win both ways if your a fan of both teams.

I'm hoping Elliott starts tonight.
He needs an "easy" game to get some confidence, and I'm not sure there's a worse team than Arizona right now.
If he can't shut the door against the yotes, he probably won't get it done against anyone.

Yeah, I'm on board with Elliott getting the start tonight, I still really like Johnson, but he could use a night off and it would be great if Elliott can gain some confidence between the pipes with a solid performance and a Flames victory tonight.

Brian Elliott one of the first on the ice here at Gila River Arena. Jordan Sigalet having a chat with him this AM.
Sounds like he may get the start?

Its nice that the Flames are playing meaningful games mid December. Much better than expected after that pitiful start.

I too want to see Elliot in net. I love Johnson. But save him for the fast paced game the Sharks will bring.
If Elliot gets the win, it gets his confidence back on track. Johnson is due to come back down to earth, and Elliot is due for a hot streak. A win tonight puts Elliot in a good place.
However if he puts up a stinker, I will be very disappointed. Even though there really are no 'easy' games in the NHL, tonight's should be very winnable. Losing to the worst team in the NHL would be horrible for his confidence. Let's pray that's not the case.

Elliott is in the starter's net. Looks like Hathaway is in for Bouma. Likely no Wotherspoon.
#Flames projected forwards:
Gaudreau-Bennett-Chiasson
Versteeg-Monahan-Brouwer
Tkachuk-Backlund-Frolik
Ferland-Stajan-Hathaway
#CGYvsARI
#Flames projected defence:
Giordano-Hamilton
Brodie-Wideman
Jokipakka-Engelland
Goaltenders:
Elliott (Starter)
Johnson
