Russian reality TV show to 'allow' rape and murder in Siberian wilderness

“Each contestant gives consent that they could be maimed, even killed,” reads an advert. “2000 cameras, 900 hectares and 30 lives. Everything is allowed. Fighting, alcohol, murder, rape, smoking, anything.”

Contestants will each sign a waiver acknowledging that they might be raped or killed but the rules also state that police are free to arrest anyone who commits a crime on the show. “You must understand that the police will come and take you away,” the rules state. “We are on the territory of Russia, and obey the laws of the Russian Federation.”

I guess it was only a matter of time before someone copied one of those Most Dangerous Game type movies.

Also I like how the range of vices allowed escalates from fighting, booze, murder, rape and finally to the most heinous of all, smoking.

I think the message is that this is a survivor type show that you could starve and die in. Its just saying the producers will not intervene under any circumstances and they are pre-selecting the cast to be filled with drunk crazy people.

He is just making them sign a waiver absolving himself of any liability. You're still under Russian law, so I think this is just a guy hyping his TV show.

I mean you can technically do those things in Canada too and just like this, you could be arrested.

Pretty sure the headline of this should be "TV producer makes contestants sign waiver before competing on television show".

"You can't sue us if you get murdered or raped" is not the same as "Murder and rape are allowed on this show"

We all know how this is going to go. 30 people get dropped out in the wilderness. A couple days later the show gets cancelled. Two weeks later Putin returns to Moscow from a hunting trip, in a helicopter loaded with 'totally not human hides'.
