New Year's Eve in Calgary
Hello,
Just wanted to see where people will be celebrating New Years Eve this year. Any good events going on in Calgary? I think there are quite a number of these club/nightclub type parties for New Year's (Cowboy's, Flames Central, Shark Club)...any of them good?

I'll be at a house party with about 10 friends. Can't imagine doing anything else. Never found good value in the ticketed events to be honest. And I can't pass out on the couch at them.

I am always a little perplexed when the lead singer of a band passes away yet the band continues touring. Even more so when the band is named after the late lead singer.

Now that the concept of getting a cab isnt about as realistic as hitchhiking to Mars I always liked going to a pub with friends and watching the Flames game.

Probably going to a house party at either my buddies place or my aunt's. I'm sick of doing the club events. I never understood going to a dance club with full suits and gear on, which everyone suddenly feels the need to wear simply because it's NYE.
Also getting a taxi is a gong show, so I would usually end up being DD simply so we could all get home. But being DD on new years sucks.

I'll be doing the usual. Hosting a few friends for dinner and drinks. If we are lucky, most of us stay upright until midnight but it isn't really a requirement. Anything else is way to much effort and usually ends in disappointment.

I remember the days I would use time shift on the old satellite to hit all the local countdowns across the country. Now it seems they just mass produce and tape delay a single one. I don't think I could find a count down celebration for Calgary last year.

Plans sorta worked themselves out this year. I won the grand prize at this years Christmas party at the Deerfoot Inn. It includes a night in the jacuzzi suite and tickets to the show, dinner, breakfast the next day and I think $50 for the casino.
Oh, and a party favour. Not sure what that means but we get one.
