How will Johnny do in his first 10 games?
Heeeee's back! So what are your thoughts with regards to how he starts off the season? Is he going to be so happy that the drama is finally over and he will go out and dominate stress free?
Or will be a little more tentative learning the new system and rusty from a few weeks off?
Was the World Cup enough of a training camp? Are Johnny and Mony going to be slightly off with not practicing with each other and the Mony injury?
I will say he gets off to a bit of a slow start for his standards. I will say in the first 10 games, he goes 2G, 5A = 7pts and a +1.

Taking a while to get to 5000

Typically players in his spot (missing camp, not skating with the team, etc) start off slow.
Johnny isn't the typical player though. Easily see him as a point a game player for the first 10. At worst.

Johnny doesn't play the system, the system revolves around Johnny doing his thing when he's on the ice.
PPG is reasonable since he really shouldn't be rusty. Whoever is on the top RW spot is going to be doing everything in their power to make a good first impression. We're also playing crap teams like the Oilers and Canucks.

I wouldn't be surprised if the whole team gets off to a bit of a slow start. This whole pre-season felt pretty disjointed, without a single game that had every regular in the lineup. It may take a couple of games to fully gel...which is not necessarily the best thing considering who we are playing.
Having said that, I also wouldn't be surprised if Johnny picks up right where he left of in the World Cup.

Slow start. New coach and new defensive pairings and no Hudler.

A chunk of that from beating up on Edmonton and Vancouver.
He was well above a PPG in the early going last season as well.

He'll score a few goals, humble a few defenders and eat some skittles... typical Johnny.
