Per Kypreos.

Weird. Panthers had a good season under him last year. Would have expected him to have a longer leash.

Wonder if he'll be a top candidate for VGK

What. The. ####.

This is a mistake. Mark my words. He did more for the structure of that team than any coach in the previous 10 seasons. He made the Panthers one of the better defensive teams in the league overnight.

Results haven't been there this year, but they've been in every single game. Just haven't scored enough or at the right times.

This new GM is putting his stamp on the team that Tallon built, and he's kinda ruining it already. Lots of unnecessary off-season moves with the roster, and then fires a coach early in a season with a revamped roster and some key injuries. Don't like this Rowe guy at all.

OH Good...Tom Rowe is going to take over as coach and GM. I'm sure this is going to go well.

What an idiotic egomaniac Rowe is. Such an asshat.

Looks like he's the new coach too.

Wow, I liked Gallant. Not sure I agree with this move.

Honestly, if things don't work out with Gulutzan, I'd be totally fine with the Flames hiring Gallant. He's a very underrated coach.

One of those franchises that never seems to turn things around. They make progress and then back to the mire

Seems really strange. It's like a move just for the sake of making a move.

Considering that Rowe is taking over behind the bench, it's more a move of "I can do it better". This is pure ego and I guess Rowe and Gallant were supposedly never on the same page.

Gallant will find a job again very soon. I don't know how long Rowe will last if he makes these types of reactionary moves.

Horrible move by GM. If there was a coach out there that he really wanted then maybe i can see why he fired Gallant, but to give himself the job?

Their GM is terrible. Some really weird offseason moves. They seem to over-rely on advanced stats and underrate the importance of winning physical battles. Now he fires the coach and puts himself as coach? Wow.

This GM may single-handedly derail their rebuild.

Agree 100%. I think the biggest errors made in over-relying on advanced stats is on D where they think every d-man has to be able to "move the puck" no matter how the player is physically or defensively-probably why they got rid of Gudbranson and Kulikov and brought in a guy like Demers.

Bob McKenzie ‏@TSNBobMcKenzie
FLA also fired assistant coach Mike Kelly, in addition to head coach Gerard Gallant. GM Tom Rowe taking over behind the bench.

sounds like a lot of disagreement behind the scenes.
