Default NHL Survey Questionnaire

Hey guys and gals, after reading the thread regarding whether people are becoming fair weather fans or not (thanks shermanator), I came up with the idea of creating a short survey to better understand the numbers behind the decline in interest.

This took me 10 minutes to create, so if I am missing any key questions forgive me. Won't take long as it is only 10 questions (9 being mandatory to fill to complete the survey).Hoping to gather the results and show them to a friend who works at Sportsnet. I will post them on CP as well.

Survey is totally anonymous.

The survey is ok. I found the options to rank why you would watch a game at home to be a little confusing or maybe not relevant to myself. Also, the question about which programming I prefer didn't even mention an actual game. Maybe I'm old fashioned, but I tune in to watch the game. In fact I PVR the game and fast forward through all the other crap.

Thanks for the input. Programming I didn't want to include a game because that would clearly be the number one choice. Was more interested in getting a gage of what type of NHL specific programs fans are more interested in.

At 48 responses right now. Hoping to get in the hundreds. Thanks everybody, keep it coming.

Done. Make sure you ask them to fix the fracking audio delay on flames broadcasts!

Biggest problem for me is the refs it's hard to get invested when they are that bad

Up to 136 responses. Unfortunately the refs being horrible isn't a problem that can be easily fixed, but I do have some connections in rogers who work on branding the NHL, to make it better for the audience.

"Stop doing player interviews during intermission."

So boring, awkward, and such a waste of everyone's time. The broadcast would be better suited to break down plays of the game or show analysis of a specific player in this time slot.

Personally I don't care about intermission as I skip it anyway, and I think the Play-by-play team is actually quiet good. For me, the biggest deficiencies are technical. My TV experience would be infinitely more enjoyable if they did two things.

1) Up the quality of the video. The "HD" is just plain awful.

2) Emphasize the crowd noise, not the on-ice noise, in their audio mix. I know the Saddledome isn't necessarily Chicago stadium, but the Sportsnet broadcast makes it sound like a morgue. I care about atmosphere, not the puck banging off the boards.

In terms of audio, sometimes it also still sounds like Rick Ball is ahead of the video.

In terms of website, why is Sportsnet the only option? I go to the Flames website a lot.

I wanted to get a gage of how many people use Sportsnet as a source of information seeing how they are our main provider for the NHL.

Does anyone actually use the sportnet page?

I use score on my phone, and nhl.com for NHL news.
