Hearing the Coyotes are close to announcing site for their proposed new arena. Could happen as early as this week.

So the greater Phoenix area will have three functioning NHL arenas before Calgary gets a new one. OK.

Just blindfold the fans and drive them out to America West or whatever they're calling it now.

Please. The Saddledome is ten times the NHL arena America West Arena (whatever it's current name) is.

I don't have anything confirmed on this, but I'm hearing the new arena will be in Quebec City.

Lol wut? Are they building another arena that seats 5,000 people so it feels more full?

Glendale was a bad location. Not sure Phoenix can cough up the coin for a struggling hockey franchise tho

If they do build a new rink I would assume that it is built on the parking lots south of Chase Field and the Suns arena.

I am going to predict north Scottsdale, near the 101 and Bell.

Something in Tempe would be cool. Maybe on ASU campus, close to Sun Devil Stadium. That's a really cool spot beside A mountain. Right off the freeway, centrally located, close to the airport.

Are the Suns, Coyotes and ASU all going to play out of this new arena? Is that the plan to make it viable?

I've been to the Gila River Casino Arena or whatever they call it. It's alright. It's concourses are not better than the Saddledome in any functional sense - they seem more open because there are only 10,000 people in the building.

Otherwise it's a perfectly meh arena. It's super easy to get out of though. Probably has something to do with the design.
