bit of a borderline case for me to be honest. Not an amazing deal valuewise for the Isles, but also not a rip-off. Just a bit of "meh".

I'm not a Petry fan but if you were then I think the adder from the Avs makes up the value gap.

I have been trying to figure this one out but you know what, if I am going back and forth it has to be 'fair'.

Voted no
I'm borderline with everyone else but for me borderline doesn't equal therefor fair.
..-.. | Fair | ..+..
33% | 33% | 33%
33% | 66%
Hope that makes sense
I have zero issues with this trade and it going through, I don't think it's a bad trade but I do see it as one that you regret looking back that we all made early on
But if Kapanen's his guy, I wouldn't argue as I don't have a great value (knowledge) on Kapanen and could be completely wrong... meaning if he's sold on him then I wouldn't disagree

It's close, but I voted no because I think you can get better for Hamonic and I think this is one where you look back after and double think.
It's not bad, I think my sentiment lines up wit Hanna

This is slightly in the not good enough range that I voted no. Hamonic is just a little too good for a deal like this. I feel it's about a late 2nd or so off in terms of value, whether that's a prospect or a pick.

This is a tough one, I'd go with fair as it isn't a rip off if you like Kapenen, but can see it from both sides.

Hamonic is better and younger. But Petry has an extra year in his contract, where Ham will probably get a raise this summer, even if signed for a single year. (but that's going with this years grids)
I know little about Kapanen, but a quick read says he's having a wicked start for the Marlies. Does that translate into a NHL career on a young NHL squad?
I think this is a very small piece from being ideal, but will still vote "fair" because I wouldn't be upset either way.

I don't think it is an ideal return, I think it is pretty close but give a slight edge to the Av's. It is pretty close so I vote fair.

For me, it's too close to overturn. I'm saving my vetos for the real lopsided deals. I say it's fair enough to allow.

Went with no, I don't think Kapanen makes up for the difference between the two D

The peanut gallery has this to say:
UFA contract and a reasonable prospect for a Top 2 Dman as an RFA contract...the adder should be a fair bit more IMO.

To be clear, Petry is not going to be a UFA this year, he has 2 years left on current deal. I think Simmer was referring to the type of contract he would need for the next one.
