Nominate a long distance Flames Fan for home ice experience
I don't know if this has been posted already as I haven't had much time lately to check the forums much. Thought of CP when I saw this on Twitter though. Hope someone from here wins it. I'm also not sure if the preference for something like this is Off-topic, but it's a Flames promotion so I thought it most fitting in this forum.
Feel free to nominate a fellow CPer.
Edit: North America only, apparently. Also, nominate here:

I nominate calgaryboy. I don't know how to actually nominate the person, but he's the CPer that deserves this.

Unfortunately the rules say the person has to live in Canada or the States
Quote:
b) Economy class, round-trip air transportation for one (the winner's out-of-town guest) between a city in Canada or the continental United States of America to Calgary, AB; Final airport selection shall be determined by Contest Sponsors and will be from any major airport served by Air Canada closest to winner's out-of-town guest's place of residence; Grand Prize winner, or winner's out-of-town guest, will be responsible for ground transportation to and from the selected airport; Once flights have been confirmed, any penalties associated with a change in reservation/itinerary will be the responsibility of the Grand Prize Winner and/or his/her guest; Flights may be operated by Air Canada, Air Canada Rouge, or by third parties operating under the Air Canada Express brand. Flights in connection with the Grand Prize do not qualify for Aeroplan® Mile accumulation or any other loyalty points of any kind. Exact dates of flights, hotel and game will be determined by Contest Sponsors.

I'm not trying to vote for myself, but give it to someone who is posted in another province serving their country.

I would vote for Cali Panthers Fan. Easily one of the best posters here. Glad to consider him a good friend on this site.
Edit: I would also support a bc-chris campaign, only with the caveat that he talks Ken King into using his awesome jersey ideas

North American only? So the contest should be really be called nominate a medium distance Flames fan?
Also, I was a little confused that the contest says you have to live within 50km of Calgary to enter but I guess this means the winner must come from Calgary and their nominated guest can come from out of town.

Seriously? I think sending Cali just so he can see what a capacity crowd looks like in the NHL would be the kind thing to do. No offense to BC Chris, but he could see bigger hockey crowds than Cali every night of the week in the Okanagan.
Igitang is my second choice for serving the country.

Wouldn't say no living in T.O. And working at 6 makes it tough to watch a game like San Jose this Thursday (during year end inventory and 12's no less ) but who ever gets this deserves this, it's hard being a long distance fan but so worth it at times as well. When I lived in Van, the few games I saw live in the 7 years there were some of my fav all time! Cammy hat-trick, TKO on Bieksa, Tanguay shootout winner where luongo's shuttlepads carried the puck into the net, and nucks fans yelling at me to cover my jersey up as I walked proudly out to the skytrain Hahahaha. What a cool contest!

Are you saying bc-chris is not a good dude? You'd probably give panthers fan a heart attack seeing a more then 10k at a hockey building. Do you really want that on your conscience?

By the way... I know we don't always agree on hockey-related issues here, but huge props to you for serving all of us Canadians in the military. Thank you very much for your service.

Hey man, thanks for the consideration. I'm honestly not trying to play that card and have been to a lot of NHL games. But if there is another service member, I would love to see them get it.
No offence to the others who people would consider, Cali and Chris seem like good people.

Thanks buds, at the end of the day, we are all decent people for the most part. I would never actually hold a forum squabble against anyone in real life. We all simply take this silly sport way to seriously and that's ok, I think.
Cheers!
