Nashville predicted to hoist cup in 2016-17
The Nashville Predators have been building for a couple of years and in the midst of the rebuild have made the playoffs and won a couple rounds. Last year after qualifying for the post-season late they fell behind 3-1 to the Minnesota Wild, and came back to win the series in seven games. Things are moving in the right direction. But on the eve of the season opener today GM Slava predicted an all out victory for the Predators this season.
"Well its just kind of obvious. I read through the other teams season previews and its a lot of mediocrity and GMs saying 'we hope to make the playoffs'. I think that's great and a lot of those teams are really building something special I guess. In Nashville though, we are playing to win. I guess its a process of elimination because no one else is willing to say they're going to go all the way, so I'll say it. We will win the cup."

In the preseason we just couldn't get our offense rolling and that is probably a chemistry issue of some sort. We'll mix somethings up and between that and maybe a deal here or there, we should be able to get some things going. The roster is solid I think, so we're not far off from where we need to be.
