Retro jerseys are officially third jersey again
Boomer just said it has been made official. Worn 12 times starting with Home Opener.

It's been two seasons and they still wore the retros a couple of times those last two seasons.
The thirds have been fine.
Once they finallly get rid of the ugly flag jerseys it will be "about damn time"

Presumably, this is a precursor to them going full retro (or retro-inspired) next season, like we've seen with other teams (Pittsburgh and Edmonton, to name two).

I just don't get choices they've made over the past few years. Is it the Flames themselves? Design companies? Lack of focus groups?
I just find the current sets, the last third very underwhelming and with such a current pushing the retros I don't get it.
Especially with the league going retro everywhere. Edmonton, Vancouver, Islanders, Sabres, Flyers ... Hawks, Wings, Habs, Rangers refusing to change.
The Flames have a 1972 staple and they don't use it enough. They're classic!

Like it. Good news for those in the "retro camp" with the Adidas change coming next year. Although I have total faith that the Flames management will make an ugly new jersey instead of the easy and logical choice of going back to the retros full time.
