@CPHLFlyers have traded long time captain and fan favorite Claude Giroux. More moves are imminent.
In a move that will certainly gain mixed reviews from Flyer fans, Philadelphia has traded their captain, Claude Giroux, to the Columbus Blue Jackets.
To Columbus:
Claude Giroux 82ov
Dale Weise 68ov
To Philadelphia:
Giroux was 9th overall in CPHL scoring last year and has been a continuous top sim performer. This year, however, the chemistry was just not there and the team failed to put the puck in the net. A shake up was needed and we started with the leadership.
In return, Flyers gain one of the most hit and miss players in the the league, but we're hoping that, paired alongside Jamie Benn, Sid the Kid will become the sim beast we believe he's capable of. He had a decent season with Columbus last season: putting up 36 goals and 45 assists, which was good for 23rd overall in the league. Benn has been itching for a new parnter and we're super excited to see what he and Crosby can do together.
Same age. Crosby has a higher rating, but Giroux has the nicer contract, both in cost and term. In real life, I think Giroux is going to slowly decline, while Crosby's MVP cup winning performance, and his dominance at the Worlds, show that he's not slowing down any time soon.
Random, useless fact of the day:
Sidney becomes the first player on the Flyers roster whose name starts with a letter in the last half of the alphabet.

Big thanks to mbprice for the extremely easy talks.
Although we're temporarily halting any talks around Jamie Benn until we can see how he pans out alongside Crosby, there are more moves coming, with another trade being faxed immediately.
