Flames Young Stars Classic: Flames vs Jets

After all the chatter about starting game threads, I'm surprised no one did it.

I don't have much to add, but here's the preview from the Flames web page:

http://flames.nhl.com/club/news.htm?...id=DL|CGY|home

Game is at 5pm and available on the Flames web page or App.

The Young Stars tourny totally flew over my head for some reason, and this is with my friend sending me a text going "I'm headed to Penticton, anyone you want me to keep an eye on?" too.

I am looking forward to this tournament this year!!!

Really happy the Flames are streaming the games on their youtube channel, I live in the Okanagan but can't make it this year. Have they done that in the past or was it just on their website?

It will be on YouTube, and streaming from the official Flames site.

I am usually so hockey starved by the time this event comes around that I have to watch the games. I'm certainly interested in the results but thanks to the World Cup I have lost interest in watching

Lines per Aaron Vickers:

Tkachuk-Jankowski-Klimchuk;
Mangiapane-Lomberg-Tuuola;
Pollock-Dube-Carroll;
Smith-Kravchenko-Phillips

Culkin-Andersson;
Kylington-Dyukov;
Kanzig-Morrison

Gillies
Parsons

Gillies is to play the whole game.

Jankowski, Tkachuk, and Klimchuk would be a fun line to watch and should be dominant. Hopefully this is a line that stays together.

I'm excited to see the goalie prospects. The Flames have some good depth at that position now, at least I hope.

Great to see Gillies starting.

Hope to see Culkin show that those injuries are behind him.

At one point he was ahead of Kulak development wise, and Kulak hasn't looked half bad in the NHL.

Lomberg is listed as being a left wing, do any of the members here that follow the prospects on a regular basis have any insight? Did he play centre for the Thunder last year?

I know Tkachuk is the shiny new toy, but my eyes are on Jankowski and Mange for F's

and the dynamic 2nd round duo Kylington and Andersson for the D's

Tuuola is the sleeper/####disturber

Lots of guys to watch out for this tournament, and throughout this upcoming season. Will be nice to see Tuuola perform in a real 'game' situation rather than a scrimmage (which he looked beastly in).

My eyes are definitely on Jankowski more than any other prospect at the moment, as it has been a fun (and argument-filled) ride watching this kid develop. Will be watching Klimchuk (please stay healthy somehow - you have so much potential, and perhaps the most lethal snipe out of all the prospects in the system). Tkachuk will be fun - that first line as a unit should be loads of fun.

Then there is Mangiapane - can he adjust to the pro-league where many smaller and super-skilled prospects go to die before shipping themselves off to Europe? I hope so, and will be following him closely. Will Kanzig show how good he is defensively in the pro ranks and show people that he is so much more than just a throwback of a player that has little use in today's game (especially now that he can actually throw his weight around in checks and not get called on a penalty for doing so). Kylington taking another step forward - he was impressive last season and exceeded my expectations in a number of ways. Andersson - will he get his conditioning under control and perform near where Kylington did last season?

Lots of others too. Really excited for this upcoming season both at the NHL level and at the AHL level. Stockton made a tonne of room for fresh faces.
