Anyone know where to purchase a fresh goose in Calgary?
The better half is looking to do a traditional German meal for Thanksgiving, which includes a goose apparently.
I figured they wouldn't be that difficult to track down, but I'm being proven incorrect once again.
Any suggestions? Do they come whole or as a breast like Turkeys these days? Fresh and free range or are they frozen?
I seriously have no idea.

I know it's not IN Calgary but the Hutterites are probably your best bet.

You could try giving Master Meats a call. Let me know how it goes. My wife's German side is also considering one for Christmas.

Speak to a hunter and get a free range, organic recently harvested goose.

Thanks for the suggestions. I think i will go the Hutterite route but now have to figure out how to get in touch with them.
The hunter idea is great too but i really dont know a lot of them personally. Is it goose season right now?
Will see what happens and will indeed call Master meats as well Fuzz...thanks.

Call Balzac Meats (403-226-0162) or the Butcher Shoppe (403-948-9572) in Airdrie. They might.

There's four places. There's the Goose Hut, that's on third. There's Geese-R-Us, that's on third too. You got Goose-Your-Butt-There. That's on third. Fly Low, Sweet Goose. Matter of fact, they're all in the same complex. It's the goose complex on third.

I know someone was complaining about this joke in the gear grinder thread awhile ago but I don't think it ever gets old. It leaves just enough room for creativity in the place names to keep it fun.

Not sure about Fresh
But the wholesale club near Chinook has frozen goose as does Green Eggs and Ham and one other place out of the Farmers market on McLeod. (Maybe McLeod from Chinook to Heritage is the goose district)

You can get the freshest Goose...if you're brave enough.

My bad, it was a general reference about how CP runs jokes into the ground. Not this one specifically.

I'm kind of amazed that the "where do I get a door" thread this morning didn't get the same treatment.
