Unless you consider Price getting healthy an off season move, Montreal should not be on this list.

I like the flat out statement that the Radulov signing "is not a Semin situation".

Why isn't it? Just saying it isn't doesn't make it true.

I'd say it's not a Semin situation because Radulov has still been playing at an elite level in the KHL.

Feels like a list of busiest off-seasons more than anything.

Kevin Allen is one of the more knowledgeable guys in the game IMO. He is the USA's version of Duhatschek.

That being said, its all opinion for any of them when they make these sort of claims/lists.

I agree with him about Montreal as well...i think Weber is going to make them a better club in the short term. Long term? Another story more than likely.

I think Jiri was more picking apart the guys lack of evidence to support his claim. It isn't because he says it isn't? Oh ok then, I'm convinced!

Even if he just put the sentence in that you put at least then we would have something to agree/disagree with.

I really liked that short article.

Repeating what Brad said about Elliot driving practices and being a well liked guy throughout the league

Excites me allot reading about our continued progression along this rebuild path and how Brian, and Brad have accelerated it's momentum.

I was happy with the Flames being listed a #1 but then I saw MTL's massive downgrade earned them the #4 position, and now I figure the author was just drunk the entire time.

Weird list IMO.

2 teams that did really well this off season (flames and panthers).

2 teams that did meh (rangers and Arizona)

1 team who did awful (Canadians)

I'm in the minority, but I agree with him on Montreal completely. Improving your team doesn't always mean getting better players, you have to address team needs and their most glaring needs IMO were physical play, the PP and a legit backup. They addressed each of those. Weber and Shaw really amp up the physicality of the club, Weber and Radulov should improve the PP greatly and Montoya is a legit backup to Price.

I cannot think of another team that aptly addressed their organizational needs more than the Flames this offseason so even with homer glasses off I thin Allen is right on the money there. On paper they plugged some really big holes. How it pans out on the ice we will have to see, sometimes the teams who make the biggest changes have the worst seasons. Sometimes.

Rangers did some good work more on the future than the right now. Buchnevich and Vesey are going to be leading this team in 2-3 years.

As for MTL, I get the Subban love but I really liked that move for MTL, Marketing wise it was a nuclear disaster but from an on ice perspective, they needed to switch up player types. And Weber will help them now and for a couple more years. But Subban is an offensive guy and offense is sexy.

As for FLA and ARZ, meh, I don't know how their D corps will balance out in FLA with losing 3 of their top 4 guys. Seems like a good chance at an adjustment year and a high pick. Reimer was a good snag though. But don't they have a 3 headed monster down there now?
