Default Sharks Trade for Tattoos

There was one thing lacking from the Sharks lineup, it was a legit #1 C. The first thing we did was to scan the league to see who had a guy we were looking for. Low and behold, the Wild had one of those guys.

The Sharks and Wild hooked up for a deal that saw two great young players change teams, but was actually a 4 player deal.

To Sharks:
Tyler Seguin
Trevor Dailey
2017 2nd

To Wild:
OEL
Mikael Granlund

Ratings are a wash but Grant gets younger so he sent a 2nd.

Easy peasy, just another day at the office.

Thanks Grant.

Nice deal. Elite C for elite D.

Even deal, love the acquisition of Seguin though, he is an absolute beast.

Wasn't really looking to swap a front line forward for D - but OEL is a guy that is one of the very best. I think Dave wins on the Seguin for OEL swap, but Granlund is a much longer term piece compared to Dailey. I hope Granlund has another step in him to take, though not sure that he does.

I love big trades like this. I was tempted, but knew Dave would get lots of interest in OEL.
Not sure I'd part ways with Seguin, even for OEL, but the Wild defense is definitely scary. Should erase any memories of losing Lundqvist.

Sharks get an absolute stud. Does San Jose wait to see if their existing wingers can even keep up with him, or do they jump into more trade talks to find someone who can? I'd bet on the latter.

There is only one other C in the league I like more than Seguin, and that's THE Sean Monahan...

Offered OEL straight up for him but Ravi declined. Pretty happy with getting Seguin though even at the expense of giving up Granlund...but I do remember Grant has always liked that kid.

Lots of trade talk happening right now and another potential big one coming...

STAY TUNED!
